Coronavirus Update

Coronavirus Update

We have an update from all event providers from across the UK and have formulated a list of all changes made.

The UK government has advised that everyone in the UK should now avoid “non-essential” travel and contact with others to fight COVID-19. The government has announced lockdown in which only “essential” travel may happen as well as no public gatherings. Essential travel is for essential shopping trips, to aid the vulnerable or to travel to work if your work cannot be done from home. Following Government advice, event producers have postponed or cancelled events throughout the 2019-2020 season.

Everyone should take sensible steps to reduce the risk of picking up infections. Click here for NHS advice on infection control – it is summarised below:

• wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds

• always wash your hands when you get home or into work

• use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available

• cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze

• put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands afterwards

• avoid close contact with people who have symptoms of Coronavirus

• follow social distancing rules of remaining 2 metres apart from anyone else and following government guidelines set on outside restrictions

• use phone, online services, or apps to contact your GP surgery or other NHS services

From the whole of the UK Cheer News team, we hope you to stay safe and see you at competition soon!
